The Product (Kimchi 101)

My jar is swollen or leaking. Is it safe?

Natural fermentation creates gas buildup, especially during shipping. This can cause the lid to swell or release a small amount of brine. This does not affect safety. Simply rinse the jar, open it carefully over the sink, and refrigerate before enjoying.

Does your kimchi need to arrive cold?

Our kimchi and pickles are naturally fermented and can travel safely at room temperature during transit. Some swelling or pressure in the lid is normal because our products are alive and fermenting. Please refrigerate upon arrival for best taste and texture.

How long do your products last?

Our fermented products stay fresh for several months when refrigerated. For best flavor, we recommend enjoying them within one month. They continue to ferment over time, which deepens the flavor and increases probiotic benefits.

Is your kimchi vegan?

Our kimchi is not vegan. It contains fish sauce, which are traditional Korean ingredients for kimchi. If you are looking for vegan options, our pickles are all vegan.

Are your products spicy?

Most of our products are mild to medium. Our Original Napa Kimchi has balanced seasoning and is not overly spicy. Our Spicy Cauliflower Mix is the spiciest option.

Why is my jar so full?

We hand-pack every jar to the brim so you get the most product possible. Fermentation continues in the jar, and vegetables release brine and natural gases. This can push the brine upward. Simply open the jar over the sink and refrigerate.

How to Enjoy

How do I eat Kimchi besides just as a side dish?

The possibilities are endless! Top your scrambled eggs, toss it into fried rice, layer it on a grilled cheese sandwich, make Kimchi Pancakes, or chop it up for tacos. When the jar gets old and sour, use it to make a rich Kimchi Stew (Jjigae).

Can I drink the pickle brine?

Absolutely. The brine from our kimchi and pickles is packed with probiotics and flavor. Use it as a salad dressing base, a marinade for chicken, or even a "pickleback" shot with your favorite spirit!

What do I pair the Red Onions or Red Cabbage or Banh Mi pickles with?

Our red onions, red cabbage and banh mi (carrots & daikon) are perfect on burgers, tacos, sandwiches, and avocado toast. Toss them in salads or rice bowls, or as a fresh crunch alongside Texas or Korean BBQ.
